The Ultimate Website Launch Checklist

Launching a website is one of the most important steps towards marketing your business. You only get one real chance at a launch, so there is a checklist to follow to ensure you have thought of everything.

Your graphics are extremely important to your website. They should be branded to speak about your company so that people know if you’re fun, sophisticated, offer a luxury brand, and so on. If people get to your site and it’s nothing but text, they will likely feel overwhelmed and hit the back button.

Additionally, be sure that your graphics are large enough that they can be seen on any device. High-quality graphics won’t show any kind of pixelation.

By having graphics on your site, it also makes it easier for people to know what you have to offer instantly upon arriving on your page.

Quality Content
There’s nothing worse than not being able to convey your message. You want to make sure that your content is of the highest quality possible, even if that means hiring a copywriter to get the job done.

You should have content on your homepage, services pages, and an about us at the very minimum. Be sure that the content is grammatically correct and gets to the point without using elaborate words that the average person wouldn’t be able to understand.

Search Engine Optimization
You need to optimize your site for the search engines so that you are visible. This includes choosing keywords carefully. Focus on a keyword density of around one percent. Additionally, be sure to use the meta fields on all pages and for all photos and videos. You should have metadata everywhere so that the search engine spiders can find what they need.

You may also want to hire a company that specializes in SEO so that you can ensure your page will rank against the competition. If you are using the same keywords as your competitors, it may make it hard to stand out. An SEO professional will also know all of the latest algorithms used by the search engines.

Organized Directory
An organized directory will make it easier for people to figure out where they need to go. A simple menu at the top or on the side of the page can go a long way. If people have to spend too much time looking for something, they’ll most likely give up and go to your competition instead.

Calls to Action
Use calls to action throughout your site with action words. This will ensure people know what you expect of them. “”Call now”” and “”Click here”” can be very helpful so that you can obtain more leads.

By using a checklist, you can be sure that your website launch is more successful.
